Its 40 meters high, the pyramidal crown, and its cinnamon hue during fall make this cypress one of the botanical highlights of Inhotim. It lives well in flooded areas (thence its popular name) and its roots grow outside of the surface, helping it breathe.

The wood can reach different hues, going from rosy to red-yellowish, and is soft, light, and lasting. Essential oils are also extracted from the leaves and the bark.
