Starting November 11, Inhotim presents, at the Marcenaria Gallery, the work Giro (2023), by Luana Vitra. Commissioned by Inhotim, the installation inaugurates a new vocation for the Marcenaria Gallery, which will now host temporary exhibitions, alongside the Lago, Fonte, Mata and Praça galleries.

The work features as material elements ceramic vases produced in partnership with the local artists Benedikt Wiertz, from Ateliê Xakra, and Alex Santana, from Cerâmica Santana, stones that are part of Inhotim’s paths, and copper pieces produced by Aitam Camilo (ArteTude), proposed to pose questions about the relationships developed with the landscape, especially that of Minas Gerais.

The multi-artist from Contagem (MG) imbues her work with the experience of the mineral and industrial landscapes of her surroundings, alongside the familiar references linked to her father’s occupation, a lathe worker, and her mother, a poet, to create an immersive environment in which gesture and form meet materials such as copper and clay.
