June at Inhotim

Inhotim’s June program is full of reflections, abstraction and fun.

The events of Inhotim Environment Week 2024 invite the audience to reflect on a new possible world. With a variety of guests, the program will include conferences, visits, workshops, theater and a musical performance.

What is…? starts off from a question that proposes new points of view. In June, What is transmutation? brings a tour of the senses with artist Luiza Crosman, a conference with Colombian biologist Brigitte Baptiste and a dance performance by multi-artist João Paulo Lima, who uses his body as a form of speech.

In addition to Direito à forma, at Fonte Gallery, and Giro (2023), by Luana Vitra, at Marcenaria Gallery, three new temporary exhibitions are on view: O Barco (2021), by Grada Kilomba; Esconjuro, by Paulo Nazareth; and Ensaios sobre paisagem. They can be visited in the Galpão, Praça and Lago galleries, respectively.

To delve deeper into the new exhibitions, take a Mediated Visit with the Education team. You can also participate in the Panoramic Visit to learn more about the history of Inhotim.

The Moving Atelier workshops are ideal for exercising creativity, inviting people of all ages to create visual patterns from sounds, represent their inner worlds through drawing, create poetic recipes and more.

For those who like music, the tip is to keep an eye on the concerts that the Inhotim Orchestra has prepared for the month, part of the Musical Routes program. Another notable musical program is Mineral, a concert installation by artist and ceramist Máximo Soalheiro, which presents the results of over 20 years of research into the sound of ceramics.

Wrapping up the month, the Bird-Friendly Buildings seminar addresses the topic of bird-friendly buildings in an interdisciplinary way and with easy-to-apply solutions, in addition to promoting the launch of two publications.

The Inhotim Institute is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday. To visit for free, pick up your ticket for Wednesdays or the last Sunday of the month, June 30. Learn more in the Free Inhotim guide.
