Anyone who is fascinated by orchids cannot miss this opportunity. Dedicated to Vandas – a group of orchids comprising different genuses, mainly “Vanda” – the Vandário [Vanda Nursery] is one of Inhotim’s oldest themed gardens. In March 2014, it moved to a new address, next to the Lago Novo, on the Park’s orange section. There it is possible to contemplate exuberant flowers. Keen-eyed visitors will easily notice that each flower has a petal that stands out from the others. This unique petal is called labellum (or lip) and serves as a “guide” for the pollinator.
