Opening October 18 at Galeria Lago, the exhibition Ru Jub ‘ulik Achik ’– Aromas de um sonho (Scents of a Dream) marks the first large-scale solo exhibition in Brazil by Guatemalan artist Edgar Calel. The show highlights the communal, spiritual and political character of Calel’s production, featuring 15 works—12 of which were commissioned by Inhotim.
On October 1, International Music Day, the Orquestra Jovem Inhotim (Inhotim Youth Orchestra) welcomes the Orquestra Chiquinha Gonzaga (Rio de Janeiro) for a musical exchange on Musical Wednesday. The ensembles will hold an open rehearsal, performing selections from their repertoires and sharing musical and educational experiences.
The Brumadinho Experience is back for its 5th edition. This community fair celebrates local culture, traditions, and cuisine, bringing together producers, artists and cultural leaders in a space dedicated to the sale and promotion of products, as well as the exchange of knowledge and learning opportunities. Each edition features 15 local producers and a cultural attraction.
Throughout October, the Traveling Workshop invites participants to tap into their creativity. Visitors can also enjoy the Panoramic Tour, available daily, which delves into Inhotim’s history and collections.
Be sure to visit the third season, winter, of Esconjuro (Conjure) by Paulo Nazareth. Also on view are the group exhibition Maxita Yano and several temporary exhibitions, including Homo sapiens sapiens by Pipilotti Rist; Só depois da chuva (Only After the Rain; 2024) by Rebeca Carapiá; Tangolomango by Rivane Neuenschwander; O Barco (The Boat; 2021) by Grada Kilomba; and Giro (2023) by Luana Vitra.
In October, Inhotim is open Wednesday to Friday, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
