During the month of January, Educativo Inhotim will offer activities, workshops and games in different spaces of the museum, such as the Galeria Psicoativa Tunga, Galeria Carroll Dunham, Jardim Veredas and Largo das Orquídeas.

The educational program is free for museum visitors and takes place throughout the month of January. The Panorâmica and the e Themed visits are also part of the program, which take place throughout the year.

Activation Psicoativa Tunga: O que eu não invento é mentira

Educativo Inhotim appropriates the phrase “O que eu não invento é mentira” [What I don’t invent is a lie], by the author Manoel de Barros, to experience possibilities of the real and the imaginary inspired by the works at the Galeria Psicoativa Tunga. For this, we invite families to expand the documentary limits of photography, starting from fictions and narratives that can be elaborated in this space-time.

January 6 and 7, from 10 am to 2 pm, leaving from the Reception towards the Galeria Psicoativa Tunga. The estimated duration is 120 minutes. 25 slots are available for each activity, which must be reserved at Reception.

Games workshop: a ludic space in the museum

Through the game of bingo, Educativo Inhotim invites children and their families to learn a little more about the museum’s artistic and botanical collection, bringing their perceptions, curiosities, contributions and experiences within the ludic space. During the activity, educators will address some aspects of the works and about artistic making, thus building a collective mediation.

January 13 and 14, from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm, at Galeria Praça.

Folding butterflies workshop

They are colorful, big, small, graceful and even mystical, they carry with them the symbol of transformation, renewal and freedom: butterflies are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful creatures in nature.

The workshop “folding butterflies” addresses the importance of these species in ecosystems and their variety of colors and shapes. By observing Inhotim’s collection of butterflies and origami, a Japanese paper folding technique, participants will get to know a little more about the universe of butterflies and take home a souvenir of this experience.

January 20 and 21, from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm, at Largo das Orquídeas. In the event of rain, the activity will take place at the entrance to the Galeria Fonte.

Workshop rubbing nature

The diversity of Inhotim’s botanical collection is full of permissions for a meaningful and subjective experience. The use of artistic techniques that are far from conventional, such as frottage, allows for an experience in which creativity can be explored. The workshop invites participants to investigate Inhotim’s botanical collection and discuss the relationship between art and nature.

January 27 and 28, from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm, at Jardim Veredas.

Workshop create your garden

The painting technique that Carroll Dunham uses in his Garden Collection canvases makes his work a powerhouse of enchantment and inspiration. We invite visitors to an experience of immersion in his work, analyzing how the artist represents the nature present in the gardens of Inhotim and, based on that, paint their own garden.

January 27 and 28, from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm, at Galeria Carroll Dunham.

Educational Station for Visitors

The Estação Educativa para Visitantes [Educational Station for Visitors] is a welcoming place that encourages the public to get acquainted with the educational projects developed by Inhotim, and provides the opportunity to clarify doubts, tips, issues related to the collections and complement the visits through the contact and dialogue with educators.
