International Seminar Transmutar, Cerrado Week, Suicide Prevention Month activities, workshops, and more!
On September 27 and 28, the Seminário Internacional Transmutar: Invenções da terra (International Seminar Transmutar: Earthly Inventions), offers a space for critical reflection and collective creation centered around our relationship with the earth and the territories we inhabit. Featured guests include Edgar Calel and Regina Galindo (Guatemala), Eyder Calambás and Phuyu Uma (Colombia), and Melissa Alves and Inaycira Falcão (Brazil).
In celebration of Brazil’s National Cerrado Day on September 11, Inhotim presents a special program designed to raise awareness among different audiences about the importance of this biome. During Cerrado Week 2025, join the course Why Create a Cerrado Garden? on September 13 and 14, led by specialists. Additionally, two workshops round out the schedule: The Cerrado in Every Part on September 13; and Seeds of the Cerrado on September 14.
September is a time for reflection and care. Inhotim joins the national campaign for suicide prevention and mental health awareness with the theme Skin That Feels, Body That Lives, a special program open to both visitors and collaborators. Events include the conversation circle Identity, Mental Health and Well-Being and the yoga class Breathe, Feel, and Be Present, both on September 18.
Now in its fourth edition, Brumadinho Experience celebrates local culture, traditions, and cuisine. The fair brings together producers, artists and cultural leaders in a space dedicated to product sales and promotion, knowledge exchange, and educational opportunities. Each edition features 15 local producers and a cultural attraction.
Throughout September, the Traveling Workshop invites participants to tap into their creativity. Visitors can also enjoy the Panoramic Tour, available daily, which delves into Inhotim’s history and collections.
Be sure to visit the third season, winter, of Esconjuro (Conjure) by Paulo Nazareth. Also on view is the group exhibition Maxita Yano, as well as several temporary exhibitions, including Homo sapiens sapiens by Pipilotti Rist; Só depois da chuva (Only After the Rain; 2024) by Rebeca Carapiá; Tangolomango by Rivane Neuenschwander; O Barco (The Boat; 2021) by Grada Kilomba; and Giro (2023) by Luana Vitra.
In September, Inhotim is open from Wednesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Admission is free on September 3, 10, 17, and 24 (Wednesdays), and September 28 (CEMIG Free Sunday). For more information, check the Free Inhotim guide and get your tickets in advance.
