National Science and Technology Week at Inhotim

In 2023, Inhotim will host the 20th National Science and Technology Week. Between October 14 and 20, the Week will be based on the theme Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development.

The program seeks to popularize science and value creativity and innovation, underscoring the importance of technology in people’s daily lives and in the development of Brazil.

Participation in the Science and Technology Week is free for Inhotim visitors, and some activities require prior registration.

Cultivating Ecosystems Seminar

On October 14, Inhotim promotes the Cultivating Ecosystems Seminar, in which results from the Cultivating Ecosystems project, an initiative of the Inhotim Botanical Garden, will be presented.

The program also includes debates on biodiversity conservation, combating and tackling climate change, renewable energy production and sustainability.

Those interested in participating must register at Sympla.

The seminar is also part of Transmutar: Botanical Research Program of the Inhotim Botanical Garden, which is sponsored by Shell, CBMM and E&Y through the Federal Law for Culture Incentive.

2:00 pm Round Table: Contributions of Basic Sciences to Sustainable Development with Professor Fernando Silveira (UFMG), Me. Giordanna Bié, and mediation by Vanessa Oliveira Fagundes

Inhotim Science Space

At Tamboril on October 18 and 20, Inhotim Science Space proposes to present scientific aspects to the public in a contextualized, accessible and engaging way. Curiosities about science and botany will be covered, so that visitors are encouraged to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and can learn about the importance of Basic Sciences for social, environmental and economic development.

Inhotim Orchestra

The Inhotim Orchestra performs at the Inhotim Theater on October 19, at 3:00 pm, works by composers Cláudio de Freitas (1974) and Caroline Shaw (1982). Prior registration is not required.

Behind the Scenes at the Plant Nursery

Inhotim’s Botanical Garden and Educational teams invite you to discover the Cerrado biodiversity at Educational Plant Nursery, an opportunity to learn more about plant production and botanical collections in greenhouses and shaded areas. The visit takes place on October 20 at two different times: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
