“What is desire?”
The simplest questions can give rise to the most unexpected reflections. This is precisely the proposal of “What is…?”. More than finding answers, the program aims to open up the possibility of new points of view based on different languages and approaches to the topic. In May, the program will be on the 25th and the theme is “What is desire?”. On that occasion, the visiting public will meet with philosopher and psychoanalyst Suely Rolnik (SP) and writer Amara Moira (SP). Each will answer the question in their own way: Suely with a lecture and Amara with a reading of her poems and a conversation with the public. The What is…? program has Vale as its Master Sponsor and Cemig as a Strategic Partnership through the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture. 11 am: What does desire have to do with politics? With Suely Rolnik (SP)
Each system brings a dominant policy of desire and production of subjectivity, shaping social relations and giving consistency to the system itself. Therefore, transforming it requires intervening in this “world factory” and its mutations over time. Ideas about the colonial-racial-cisheteropatriarchal-capitalist management of this factory will be discussed, focusing on three recent mutations: the neoliberal, the neofascist in alliance with neoliberalism, and the current forms of neofascism already detached from it.

The central points of the debate will be dissident practices, gender ambivalence, reconfigurations of beauty and conflicts between identity and sex.
