November at Inhotim
This November, join us for musical performances, roundtable discussions, and much more at Inhotim!
On November 30, “What Is a Seed?” offers an encounter with nutritionist Neide Rigo (São Paulo) and the Afro-Brazilian carnival street band Bloco Afro Magia Negra (Minas Gerais). Each answers the question in their own way: the band through a musical performance, and Neide through a conversation followed by a hands-on activity in the gardens of Inhotim.
For those interested in music and history, Concerto Didático | Os caminhos da viola (Educational Concert | The Journey of the Viola Caipira) traces the evolution of the viola caipira, the Brazilian ten-string folk guitar, highlighting its role as part of Brazil’s musical heritage and its presence across diverse instrumental genres. The concert takes place on November 9.
On November 13, Inhotim hosts the launch of the book Como professoras e professoras criam? Artes e Pedagogias Antirracistas (How Do Educators Create? Arts and Anti-Racist Pedagogies), the result of the 2024 Publishing Residency. The event features a roundtable discussion with the authors.
Throughout November, the Traveling Workshop invites participants to tap into their creativity. Visitors can also enjoy the Panoramic Tour, available daily, which delves into Inhotim’s history and collections.
Be sure to visit the exhibition Ru Jub ‘ulik Achik ’– Aromas de um sonho (Scents of a Dream), by Edgar Calel, which opened in October, as well as other temporary exhibitions on view: the group exhibition Maxita Yano; Esconjuro (Conjure), by Paulo Nazareth, Homo sapiens sapiens, by Pipilotti Rist; Apenas depois da chuva (Only After the Rain; 2024), by Rebeca Carapiá; Tangolomango, by Rivane Neuenschwander; O Barco (The Boat; 2021), by Grada Kilomba; and Giro (2023), by Luana Vitra.
