International Seminar Transmutar: Earthly Inventions
The Seminário Internacional Transmutar (International Seminar Transmutar) aims to build a knowledge production network around topics relevant to life on Earth, at the intersection of science, art and education. This free program is open to all visitors, requires no prior registration, and is curated with a transdisciplinary approach. It takes place in Inhotim’s decentralized, open-air spaces.
In 2025, the seminar revolves around the theme Invenções da terra (Earthly Inventions), offering a space for critical reflection and collective creation centered on our relationship with the land and the territories we inhabit. In response to today’s ecological challenges and environmental urgencies, the gathering honors traditional knowledge, diverse cultural practices, and ways of life that recognize the interdependence among all living beings. It is an invitation to reinvent ways of being in the world, inspired by experiences that resist and recreate the bonds between culture and nature.
On September 27 and 28, starting at 10:30 a.m., the public is invited to participate in an in-person seminar featuring talks, dialogues, and artistic interventions. Featured guests include Edgar Calel and Regina Galindo (Guatemala), Eyder Calambás and Phuyu Uma (Colombia), and Melissa Alves and Inaycira Falcão (Brazil).
