This July, Inhotim presents Sound Garden, exhibitions, workshops, and much more!
Jardim Sonoro (Sound Garden) returns for its second edition on July 11–13, spotlighting the voice as its central theme. The event features a diverse and pluralistic lineup: Djuena Tikuna (Amazonas), Luiza Brina (Minas Gerais), Mônica Salmaso (São Paulo), Cécile McLorin Salvant (USA), Josyara (Bahia), Tetê Espíndola (Mato Grosso do Sul, the group Ilê Aiyê (Bahia) and multidisciplinary artist Brisa Flow (Minas Gerais).
On July 5, Lab Jardim (Lab Garden) holds an open class in partnership with Sítio Roberto Burle Marx (Rio de Janeiro). Then on July 26, Lab Mães (Lab Mothers) concludes, an initiative aimed at empowering mothers in Brumadinho through creativity, autonomy, and entrepreneurship.
Throughout July, the Traveling Workshop offers hands-on activities to spark imagination. Visitors can also enjoy the Panoramic Tour, available daily, which delves into Inhotim’s history and collection.
Be sure to visit the newly inaugurated winter season of Esconjuro (Conjure), by Paulo Nazareth. Also on view is the group exhibition Maxita Yano, as well as several temporary exhibitions, including the group exhibition Ensaios sobre paisagem (Essays on Landscape on view until July 27); Homo sapiens sapiens by Pipilotti Rist; Só depois da chuva (Only After the Rain; 2024) by Rebeca Carapiá; Tangolomango by Rivane Neuenschwander; O Barco (The Boat; 2021) by Grada Kilomba; and Giro (2023) by Luana Vitra.
In July, Inhotim also opens on Tuesdays. Hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Admission is free on July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 (Wednesdays), and on July 27 (CEMIG Free Sunday). For more information, check the Free Inhotim guide and get your tickets in advance.
