The first edition of Concerto Didático (Educational Concert) brings together some of the best musicians in Brazilian popular instrumental music: the group Toca de Tatu from Belo Horizonte and multi-instrumentalist Nilze Carvalho (Rio de Janeiro).

Toca de Tatu—formed by musicians and composers Luísa Mitre (piano), Lucas Ladeia (4-string, guitar look alike cavaquinho), Lucas Telles (7-string guitar) and Abel Borges (percussion)—is performing a repertoire that ranges from the Brazilian musical genre choro and jazz to chamber music.

Nilze Carvalho, a cavaquinho player, mandolinist and singer with a career spanning over four decades, is a role model and trailblazer for her pioneering work in a historically male-dominated space.
