Em X-estudo (2009), a silver tray connected by metal wires to a structure similar to that used in marionettes has its surface covered with rough blocks of magnets, creating a magnetic field. This field serves as a basis for the other elements that are articulated in the work. The materials present in Tunga's work create an amalgamation effect, through the energy transfers between them, conferred by their physical-chemical properties.

Both the quartz crystal and the yellow liquid (which symbolizes urine) are metaphysical representations of energy transformation. Crystals are attributed with healing and energy cleansing properties, and urine is a byproduct of chemical reactions that occur in the human body.
