A highly ornamental species, the tataré tree was incorporated into landscaping projects for gardens and parks by Roberto Burle Marx in the 60s. At Inhotim, it can be admired in front of the Doris Salcedo Gallery . It is a unique tree, native to the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest biomes, that grows quickly and can reach 2,5 m in height. Its flowers appear between October and November, in shades ranging from white to beige, exuding a fragrance that attracts pollinators.

Besides being very beautiful, it is a species suitable for restoring degraded areas, as it is resistant to full sun and adapts well to poor soil conditions.
