Edgard de Souza's three sculptures are part of a series in cast bronze, developed throughout the 2000s. The silhouette references a male figure, based on the artist's own body, in reduced scale. At the Inhotim Institute, the works were grouped together for the first time on an elliptical concrete base.
Arranged linearly, the sculptures initially suggest a continuous movement. A second, more detailed look reveals a fragmented action with no direct cause-and-effect relationship in each pose. These poses are impossible and imaginary, suggesting both impulse and introspection, dismemberment and fusion of bodies.
