Olafur Eliasson began his studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Denmark), then opened his studio in Berlin (1995). His work involves large-scale installations and interventions, sculptures, and photographs. His production explores questioning customs and automatic reactions based on sensory experiences. The use of elements such as steam, water, fire, wind, or the sun is recurrent in his works.
One can also perceive the use of complex mechanisms that the artist leaves exposed, so that the public can see that this reality is constructed. Among his most important exhibitions are his representation at the 50th Venice Biennale (Italy) and the installation of The Weather Project in the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern, London (England, 2003).
