Planned to coincide with the inauguration of Robert Irwin's sculpture at the Inhotim Institute (2019), the temporary exhibition Visão Geral, At Galeria Mata, she presents works by Brazilian artists Laura Vinci, Iran do Espírito Santo, Sara Ramo, José Damasceno, Alexandre da Cunha, and Marcius Galan. She delves into contemporary sculptural production beyond its presentation in the form of three-dimensional objects.
In some works, sculptural thought is driven by absence or negation, for which the viewer's perception and construction of meaning is fundamental. Together, these works create formal and conceptual approaches that dialogue with Irwin's work and present, through industrial and everyday materials, issues relevant to contemporary sculpture: light, space, form, geometry, and abstraction. Visão Geral It does not propose a mapping, but an overview of a production in which – as in Irwin's work – time, perception, and vision are indispensable.
