Standing 40 meters tall, with a pyramidal crown and cinnamon hue during autumn, this cypress tree is among the botanical highlights of Inhotim. It thrives in waterlogged areas (hence the reference to the swamp) and its roots grow out of the surface, aiding in respiration.

Its wood comes in various colors, ranging from pink to reddish-yellow, and is soft, light, and durable. Essential oils are extracted from the leaves and bark.
