Near Vandário (J4), it is possible to find a very interesting group of small palm trees growing among rocks, the ariri-mirim. Considered a rare species, it is naturally found in the rocky fields of the Morro do Chapéu State Park (Chapada Diamantina/Bahia/Brazil), but it can be cultivated in various regions of Brazil, as it is very resistant and tolerates long periods of drought and colder environments.
Its foliage stands out for its bluish hue, due to a waxy coating that protects it from sunlight, and lends a unique beauty to the garden.
