Have you ever noticed how even the simplest questions can give rise to reflections that make us think and rethink our own lives? It is from this observation that "What is it?" comes about — encounters with artists, researchers, and thinkers who, through a guiding question, evoke meaning and countless other questions.  

In August, “What is caring?” takes place on the 30th, at 10:30 am, near the construction site. Invenção da Cor, Penetrável Magic Square #5, De Luxe (1977), by Hélio Oiticica, an artistic situation occurs with Ambuá (MG). At 14:30 pm, at the Inhotim Vale Theater, Karol Maia (SP) presents the film Aqui Não Entra Luz (2025). The screening is followed by a talk from the director.

  Ambuá is a transdisciplinary artist from Belo Horizonte. His practice encompasses sculpture, performance, installation, writing, and painting, using collection as a starting point. Using waste, vegetation, minerals, and vernacular construction techniques, he develops sculptural storytelling processes that challenge the boundaries between human and non-human, nature and culture, ruin and germination.

• 14:30 PM: Screening of "No Light Enters Here" (2025), starring Karol Maia (SP) ↓

  Karol Maia is a director and screenwriter. Her first feature film, the documentary Aqui Não Entra Luz (2025), selected by the Rumos Itaú Cultural program in 2018, investigates the social and architectural relationships between the maid's room and the slave quarters from an intimate and political perspective.
