The Circulating Atelier understands all the spaces of the museum and botanical garden as places of experience that involve diverse artistic languages. Each week, our atelier migrates to a different location, investigating how each space helps us discover ways to create and experience art and nature.

• When I think of my grandmother..., by Marina Vianna ↓

  Inspired by Edgar Calel's work Visual Song for Our Spirit (2025) and the elements of nature—stone, earth, and water—present in it, the workshop proposes an experience of listening and creation based on memory. The public is invited to revisit the voices that inhabit their memories and to transform sounds into images, giving sensitive form to the memories that echo within them.

• Between Species, by Diu ↓

  Representing other species is a reminder that we are part of the same history and the same matter. The workshop is an invitation to play with the unexpected and discover new worlds, creating paintings together. Is it possible to create an animal that doesn't yet exist? If so, how can we make it real? What would a game between species or a raffle of animals be like? What magical encounters can arise between different forms?

• Desert Beach, by Isadora Godoy ↓

  What would the world be like if it were a vast desert? Amidst climate change and on the weekend that kicks off summer, the workshop invites visitors to experience Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster's work, Desert Park (2010), as a place of imagination and possibilities. How is it possible to play, to touch, to walk… to live in the desert? It will be a moment to explore possibilities and reinvent the (apparent) void.

• Building Terrariums, by Daphne Cunha ↓

  Using carefully selected specimens from the Inhotim gardens, participants will construct small ecosystems in glass containers—the famous terrariums. Meanwhile, the impacts of climate change on the planet will take center stage in the conversation, which will address the concept of environmental balance, water cycles, the causes of the greenhouse effect, and the importance of plants in climate regulation.
