LAB Mothers 2026 Call for Applications
Attention, mothers of Brumadinho: registration is now open for the LAB Mães 2026 program!
Between June 22nd and July 22th, 2026, we will be accepting applications for 25 places in the project themed around the question: "What do mothers dream of?".
If you are a mother, live in Brumadinho, are over 18 years old, and want to find a safe space to dream, share, and turn projects into action, LAB Mães was made for you.
The program includes meetings with the Inhotim Education and Territory team and guests from the fields of arts, culture, and creative economy, as well as immersions in projects in Minas Gerais that are benchmarks of empowerment and social transformation benefiting other women. During their participation in the project, the participating mothers receive a monthly stipend of R$ 1.000,00 (one thousand reais).

1. What is the Mothers' Lab?
LAB Mães is a project of the Education and Territory department of Inhotim that invites 25 mothers to experience a formative journey that combines imagination, care, planning, and collective creation. Based on their experiences of motherhood, caregiving, and daily life, participants embark on a journey to transform dreams into plans, create strategies, identify resources, recognize timelines, and build possible paths. The activities will take place between August and November 2026.
2. Who can register?
– Mothers, over 18 years of age, residing in Brumadinho and available to participate in the project's in-person activities as described in item 8;
– women who reside in Brumadinho and can prove their address;
– mothers who did not participate in the LAB Mães 2025 program.
2.1. What is the registration period?
Registration will be open from June 22nd to July 22th, at 23:59 PM.
2.2. Do I need to pay any fees or monthly charges to register?
Registration is free. Approved participants will also not incur any costs related to participating in the project.
3. How do I register?
Registration takes place in two stages:
The first step is a pre-registration by filling out the registration form below.
In the second stage, the Inhotim Education and Territory team will contact you via the WhatsApp number provided on the pre-registration form, requesting that you send documents and materials to complete and confirm your registration.
You will have 24 hours to submit the requested materials. Registration will only be fully confirmed after all materials have been submitted.
3.1. What documents do I need to send to confirm my registration?
3.1.1 A video produced by you answering the question "What do mothers dream of?".
The material produced should be in video format, but you can include other resources in the video, such as drawing, painting, collage, photography, text, audio, etc.
This material will only be accepted if submitted as a video with a maximum duration of 3 minutes and a maximum size of 1GB.
3.1.2. Digitized identification document.
3.1.3. Proof of current address.
3.1.4. Proof of registration in the Single Registry (CAD Único), when applicable.
4. How will the applications be evaluated?
Applicants will be selected by a selection committee, composed of members of the Inhotim Education and Territory board, based on an evaluation of the application form and the material produced.
Important: If all requested documents and materials are not submitted, or are submitted in the wrong format or after the deadline, the application will be cancelled.
4.1. What will be the selection criteria for the participants?
– Complete the form.
– Video content: your video should address the proposed theme and help us learn a little about who you are and why you want to participate in the project.
– Proof of address in the municipality of Brumadinho.
– Availability to participate in the entire schedule of activities.
5. What is the schedule for the LAB Mães project?
The LAB Mães activities will take place between August 1st and November 28th, 2026. The program consists of:
[1] experiences: these are in-person meetings at Inhotim with people from different parts of Brazil who work in the areas of culture, economics, and creation. An opportunity to experiment with creative practices, expand our repertoire, and learn about new ways of thinking about the world. These are intense moments of research and transformation that help us rethink strategies to bring our dreams to life;
[2] training sessions: these are in-person meetings at Inhotim with members of the Education and Territory team. These sessions strengthen the group, stimulate critical thinking, deepen the discussions presented by the guests, and help each person gain more autonomy;
[3] Immersions: These are moments when we meet and exchange ideas with people who work in Brumadinho or nearby municipalities. Our group goes to the place where these initiatives take place in a moment of direct exchange of dreams and completed projects that can inspire the participating mothers.
6. When and where will the list of approved candidates be announced?
The list of selected mothers will be released starting July 27th via telephone contact and on Inhotim's social media channels.
7. Agreements and responsibilities
7.1. Is there a minimum frequency of participation in the project?
For the selected mother to guarantee her continued participation in the project, she is required to attend 75% of the activities. If she misses two (2) activities without legal justification, her participation in the project will be reassessed.
7.2. When do the in-person meetings begin?
The in-person meetings of LAB Mães will begin on August 1, 2026 with an opening event. Attendance is mandatory for participants on that day.
7.3. How will I get to Inhotim on the days of the meetings?
The LAB Mães Project will provide free round-trip transportation for approved participants to all project meetings.
7.4. Will I need to purchase any materials to participate in the meetings?
All materials used during the project meetings will be provided by Inhotim, free of charge for participants.
7.5. Do I need specific clothing to attend the project meetings?
All approved participants will receive a LAB Mães project uniform t-shirt. Wearing it is mandatory at meetings and during immersions in other territories. Comfortable clothing and footwear, appropriate for the climate and specific characteristics of the visited locations, are suggested.
7.6. Will food be provided?
Yes. We offer lunch and snacks at the end of the meetings.
7.7. Will there be any expenses for participating in external activities?
For outdoor activities, Inhotim will provide transportation and meals free of charge to participants.
7.8. How will the scholarship payments be made to the participating individuals?
The scholarships will be deposited into the bank account provided by the selected individuals. The bank account must be in the name of the selected person.
8. Schedule
All meetings take place on Saturdays, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In case of changes to the dates, the team responsible for the project must inform the participants and other people involved in a timely manner.
Official opening: August 1, 2026.
In-person training courses at Inhotim: August 8, 15, 22 and 29; September 19, October 3, 10 and 31; November 7.
Immersions in the territory: September 12th and October 24th.
Closure: November 28, 2026.
