The Inhotim Institute permanently exhibits a collection of internationally recognized and excellent contemporary art. Wandering through its gardens, galleries, and outdoor artworks amidst the landscape offers artists and visitors a unique exhibition experience, where art and landscaping intertwine to create a shared and unparalleled experience.
Inhotim's curatorial project is the result of ongoing research that aims to understand, through documentation, bibliographic material, and visual records, the particularities of the collection and its different approaches and concepts. The curatorial mission is to produce and disseminate knowledge, whether through exhibitions, publications, or digital initiatives.
Commissioning is one of the institution's main curatorial vectors. Periodically, artists are invited to create works specifically for Inhotim or to take art outside the museum, in order to foster and disseminate artistic production. The possibility of carrying out ambitious works, on permanent display, is at the heart of Inhotim, creating a long-term partnership with the artists in its collection.
