Os setores público e privado do Estado estão se organizando para preparar a Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (RMBH) para receber a Copa do Mundo de 2014. Há uma previsão inicial de que a Copa de 2014 no Brasil exigirá investimento total de R$ 27 bilhões, dos quais 15% serão aplicados na construção ou adequação dos estádios e os 85% restantes em infraestrutura das 12 cidades-sede. Somente na RMBH, estão sendo programados investimentos na ordem de R$ 5 bilhões.
Ontem, durante todo o dia, representantes de diversos setores participaram do evento BH 2014: desafios e oportunidades para Minas Gerais, promovido pela Fundação Dom Cabral em Nova Lima. O diretor executivo de Inhotim, Hugo Vocurca, e o gestor de Projetos e Captação, Bruno Barroso, participaram do encontro, que contou com as presenças do vice-governador do Estado, Antônio Augusto Anastasia, do prefeito Márcio Lacerda, autoridades do setor público e diversos representantes da iniciativa privada, além de integrantes de entidades do Terceiro Setor. O encontro também trouxe a Belo Horizonte o presidente da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF), Ricardo Teixeira, e membros da comissão organizadora das Copas da Alemanha (2006) e da África do Sul (2010).
Na expectativa dos organizadores, o Brasil receberá, durante a Copa do Mundo de 2014, milhões de turistas. Muitos são os desafios, entre eles o incremento do transporte público e da rede hoteleira. Mas o desafio de sediar um evento com as dimensões de um campeonato mundial de futebol será, segundo os organizadores, fundamental para o Brasil superar a imagem de país do samba e do futebol.
De acordo com o gestor de Projetos e Captação de Inhotim, Bruno Barroso, a Copa do Mundo vai ser fundamental para o país se consolidar como destino turístico mundial. "E neste aspecto, será muito positivo para Inhotim", afirma Barroso.
